This is a one- or two-year bridge experience on the front end of our Ph.D. program in physics. Bridge students have full standing as graduate students in our Ph.D. program. However, bridge students are allotted up to two years of development under the guidance of faculty, staff, and peer mentors. The development will be tailored to each student's specific needs and goals to help ensure that bridge students are well-prepared to succeed in their pursuit of the Ph.D. The two-year bridge experience will generally consist of a combination of coursework, research, a bit of teaching experience, and other academic and professional development activities. Even though this is not a Master's degree program, bridge students are eligible to earn a Master's degree if the requirements are fulfilled.
